Moving Tips

Some Do & Don'ts when moving home
  • Don’t fail to advise of any high value items i.e. antiques, furs, or paintings within your household goods
    and insurance that has been taken out when moving home.

  • Do let us know of any access problems or restrictions for our furniture removal team.

  • Don’t put breakables in drawers.

  • Do allow your fridge/freezer to defrost and drain the night prior.

  • Don’t put liquid in drawers (sauce bottles, perfumes etc.)

  • Do ensure any pets are tied up or put away.

  • Don’t overload furniture.

  • Do tape closed all magnetic or loosely latched doors when moving home.

  • Don’t store perishable foods such as cereals, flours etc.

  • Do empty draws and filing cabinets of paperwork, etc.

  • Don’t polish your furniture prior to your move.

  • Do tell us of any extra boxes etc. prior to move.

  • Don’t forget to tell us EVERYTHING you want moved.It’s your responsibility to check your list prior to pick up. (anything not on your list will incur an extra charge if we have the extra required load space)


Dangerous Goods

The following items are classified as “DANGEROUS” and cannot be stored or transported:

  • Ammunition

  • New or partially used cans of paint

  • Linseed oil

  • Bleach products

  • Gas cylinders

  • Turpentine

  • Methylated spirits

  • Kerosene

  • Petrol

  • Cleaning fluids

  • Aerosols of any kind
